Report: Juventus open to selling Aaron Ramsey amid Newcastle and Manchester United links

Newcastle United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Juventus midfielder, Aaron Ramsey, with the Turin giants willing to sell the Welshman, according to the Daily Mail.

Ramsey hasn’t quite had the impact he would have liked over in Italy. The Welsh midfielder only moved to Juve last summer, signing a mega-money deal with the club following his free transfer move from Arsenal.

The Mail claim that Ramsey is earning somewhere around the £400k-a-week mark in Italy. That, of course, would be a massive outlay for Newcastle, who have been linked with a move for Ramsey in recent weeks.

However, should the proposed takeover of the club go through, then things could turn out different.

The new owners will be desperate to bring in marquee signings. The likes of Ramsey – big-name players with European and PL experience – fit the bill perfectly.

Juventus are looking to recoup money this summer. They need to hand a new deal to Paulo Dybala and are keen to sell a number of players, including, it seems, Ramsey.

Manchester United are also thought to be keen on Ramsey, having missed out on him originally when he left England.

Regardless of takeovers, those wages will need to come down if Newcastle want to land him – TBR View

£400,000-a-week is a lot of money. Even for the richest clubs in the world. Newcastle would be in that bracket if they do get taken over shortly but surely they won’t be splashing that sort of money on Ramsey.

He is, of course, a class act. He knows the league well as well and would need little time to settle.

However, at 29, is he really what Newcastle need at the moment? If the wages were different, or even perhaps a loan move was on the cards, then maybe.

But for now, it looks like a hard deal to complete. In fact, any club looking to sign Ramsey is going to find it difficult. It’s just hard to see someone stumping up that sort of cash for him.
