Report: Juventus could target Albert Sambi Lokonga if Rabiot goes

Juventus could target Albert Sambi Lokonga as a possible replacement for Adrien Rabiot as Arsenal closely follow the Frenchman, according to a report from Calciomercato.It.

The Gunners are one of the sides very interested in signing Rabiot. His deal at Juventus expires at the end of the season.

Calciomercato recently reported that Arsenal are one of the sides ready to meet his £166,000-a-week wage demands, along with Chelsea. Meanwhile, Tottenham are also admirers of the 27-year-old.

Calciomercato.It is also now suggesting that Mikel Arteta’s men are following Rabiot closely. Juve meanwhile, would be prepared to sell him next month for up to £17.2 million. And it appears that that could prompt Juve to look at one Arsenal player.

The report claims that the Old Lady could be interested in Lokonga.

Lokonga has had a tough time since moving to Arsenal in 2021. It seemed to be a coup for the Gunners when they brought the midfielder to the Emirates given that he had already captained Anderlecht.

Unfortunately, Arsenal fans are still awaiting the chance to really see the best of the 23-year-old. He played no part in Arsenal’s final six Premier League games before the World Cup break.

He has probably not been deployed in the best role for him. Lokonga looks better in a slightly more advanced position rather than as the anchor in the midfield.

You would imagine that Arsenal will not be ready to give up when it comes to Lokonga. He looks to have huge potential. And there will be times when he is potentially needed.

However, the Gunners may perhaps be prepared to keep an open mind – particularly if they end up signing Rabiot in one of the coming windows.

If Juve are prepared to put a substantial amount on the table, Arsenal may feel that they have been given food for thought.
