Juan Foyth is willing to leave Tottenham Hotspur on loan during the January transfer window, but Jose Mourinho now plans to keep the youngster, according to a report from The Telegraph.

Foyth has endured a frustrating campaign. He is yet to start a Premier League game, and has only made six appearances in all competitions.

The Telegraph reports that the defender is open to the possibility of leaving Spurs on loan next month in an attempt to secure more game-time.

However, the report suggests that the 21-year-old is set to stay at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Mourinho was reportedly impressed with his recent display against Bayern Munich and is planning to give him more minutes.

It would be a big statement if Mourinho decided to keep Foyth. The Telegraph reports that the Portuguese is looking to streamline his squad next month, so the opportunity to loan Foyth out may have been tempting.

He is reportedly open to leaving on a temporary basis. And you could understand why some supporters would feel that a move could be good for him.

But Mourinho wants him to stay. And Foyth will be hoping that that means that he is going to feature more prominently during the second-half of the season.
