According to a report from the Daily Star, Jose Mourinho is prepared to give Tottenham midfielder, Tanguy Ndombele, a further chance at the club.
It had been widely reported that Mourinho had run out of patience with the former Lyon man. A number of reports over the last few weeks claimed the Spurs boss was set to see the midfielder out of the door.
Indeed, it was claimed this week that Mourinho and Spurs supremo, Daniel Levy, didn’t see eye to eye over the future of Ndombele.
However, this latest report claims the Portuguese boss is prepared to give Ndombele a chance.
Ndombele has put in a number of disappointing performances this season. A woeful first-half showing at Burnley a few weeks ago coming in for particular criticism.
But it appears the French international will get a reprieve from Mourinho for now. It seems, then, that the current global situation might well just help Ndombele’s Spurs future.
Tottenham and Mourinho need to see more from Ndombele – TBR View
It’s great that Spurs and Mourinho seem to be willing to give the midfielder a chance. Too often we see clubs jump the gun, so this is a nice change.
However, Ndombele must start showing the sort of quality he showed in France. Spurs shelled out a reported 60m Euros (BBC) for him. At that price, the performances simply need to be upped.
If any coach can get the best out of a player with his back to the wall, though, it’s Mourinho.
The former Chelsea boss has made a habit of getting the best out of players in his career. Hopefully, for Spurs and Ndombele, Mourinho can work his magic again.
