Foot Mercato is reporting in an exclusive the plans Jose Mourinho has to revamp his defensive options in the next transfer window.
Tottenham clearly need to improve at the back and the report suggests West Ham defender Issa Diop is the main central defensive target.
No surprises at right-back either, with Thomas Meunier, Max Aarons, and Emerson reportedly in contention.
However, the reports regarding the left-back option Tottenham are chasing would certainly be a surprise. It is claimed Ben Chilwell is the man Mourinho is targeting to replace Danny Rose.

Undoubtedly, Chilwell would be a fantastic option. However, it would not be a realistic one.
A recent report from ESPN suggested that Tottenham might only have £25 million to spend on new recruits this summer. Chilwell will cost a far higher amount. As reported by The Sun as recently as last month, Leicester City now value the England international left-back at £60 million.
In the current climate, there is absolutely no way that Tottenham can afford such a vast fee.
Instead, Tottenham will need to look for other options to strengthen at left-back or give Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon a chance to thrive next term.
