Jose Mourinho has made a personal plea to Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon in an attempt to convince him into a move to Tottenham Hotspur, according to reports.

Football.London recently suggested that making a move for a left-back was not a priority for Tottenham, with plenty of options currently occupying the role.

That came despite reports from MARCA that Tottenham were keen on the former Sevilla loanee who could be available for a figure between £18-£22 million.

Now, further reports from Spain would suggest the latter to be true.

OK Diario is reporting that Jose Mourinho has personally contacted Reguillon to discuss a potential move to North London.

It appears to have been with the blessing of Real Madrid, as Reguillon is not seen as a first-team option at the Bernabeu next season.

Reguilon is behind both Marcelo and Ferland Mendy in the pecking order, so Tottenham could genuinely have a chance of securing his signature.

Spurs will undoubtedly need to shift personnel first. Not only for financial reasons, but to make room for another foreign player in their squad.

But it seems as though Mourinho is very keen on a move for the defender, who impressed everyone with his performances in Sevilla’s run to yet another Europa League triumph.
