Report: Jorge Mendes puts transfer wheels in motion for Liverpool target Adama Traore

It is being reported that apparent Liverpool target Adama Traore is being touted out as a potential transfer option this summer by Portuguese super-agent Jorge Mendes.

The report from Le10 Sport claims that Mendes is acting on behalf of Wolves and Traore to find a new club for the Spanish winger, who has been in excellent form for the club this season.

Traore is not represented by Mendes, who has masterminded the move of several top stars to Wolves in recent years. His agent is Rodri Baster but it seems Wolves have pulled in ‘Uncle Jorge’ to help get the best possible deal should Traore be sold this summer.

Liverpool have a fairly strong relationship with Mendes. He helped broker the deal that saw Fabinho arrive at the club from Monaco back in 2018.

The report names Manchester City, Manchester United and Bayern Munich as interested in the player, and also mentions Liverpool.

Liverpool, it seems, are increasingly interested. With the failure to secure Timo Werner from RB Leipzig fresh in their minds, it would seem that the flying speedster has become the new target to strengthen Liverpool’s front-line. The Mirror reported over the weekend that Liverpool were indeed ready to start looking at Traore as a potential transfer target.

It is no surprise that Liverpool would be interested. Back in January, as reported by the Express and Star, Klopp dubbed the former Barcelona talent as ‘unplayable’.

Of course, any deal would also be dependent on a transfer fee being paid for the player. A recent report from The Sun suggested that Traore would be valued at around £60 million, a fee Liverpool would be reluctant to spend in the current climate.

But Liverpool fans can certainly hope about a deal that sees the wideman end up at Anfield. Even if it does look a little far-fetched in the current situation.
