Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly close to completing a move for Real Madrid defender Jesus Vallejo.
According to Sky Sports, Wolves have agreed a season-long loan deal with Spanish giants Madrid for the enforcer.
It is understood that the deal doesn’t include an option to buy and the 22-year-old is now set to have a medical today (Friday) at Molineux.
The report explains that the Spaniard has not given up hopes of breaking into the Madrid team despite an imminent loan away.
Vallejo is a no-nonsense centre-back that has great physical strength and he’s composed on the ball too, something expected of most La Liga defenders.
He played seven senior games for Madrid last season across all competitions, but found it difficult to break into the team and injuries were an issue too.

TBR’s View:
Wolves are crying out for more centre-backs considering their competitive season started on Thursday night with a Europa League qualifying win over Crusaders.
Vallejo clearly has a lot of pedigree and talent considering he’s been with Madrid since 2015, so a loan spell in the Premier League could be the making of him.
He will definitely help crank up competition for places in the Wolves defence and should get plenty of opportunities considering manager Nuno Espirito Santo prefers a back three.
