Darko Gyabi was given a little telling off from Jesse Marsch during a Leeds United training session for not moving the ball quickly enough, according to a report from Leeds Live.

The Whites are continuing their preparations for the new campaign with a pre-season tour in Australia. They have faced Brisbane Roar and Aston Villa. And they still have Crystal Palace to come before they return to England.

The tour has presented the fans with an opportunity to see their new signings in action. And of course, one of those new faces is Gyabi, who arrived from Manchester City earlier in the window.

Gyabi came off the bench against Brisbane Roar. And there seemed to be some really positive signs, particularly in how he wanted to get onto the ball and keep things ticking over.

But obviously, he is not yet the finished article. And there was perhaps a reminder in one of the club’s latest training sessions.

Leeds Live reports that Marsch made a point that he needed to move the ball quicker after he was dispossessed. The report notes that he heeded the advice and played a first-time pass the next time the ball came to him.

Marsch clearly rates Gyabi highly with midfielder involved with Leeds tour

Gyabi may be the signing who needs to bide his time before really getting a chance at Elland Road. He has been brought in for the future.

But it says a lot that he is in Australia with the first-team squad when you consider that someone like Lewis Bate was left at home.

Marsch clearly feels that he has a lot of potential, and can make an impact this season. That is why he will be demanding more of the teenager.

The sky could be the limit for Gyabi if everything said about him is correct. But Marsch will certainly want to make sure that he does not get carried away at any stage.
