Football London claim Leicester will look to sign Jesse Lingard if they feel James Maddison needs replacing, with Arsenal looking to sign the latter. Maddison has been strongly linked with the Gunners, though he has a price tag of £60million. Lingard could end up being Maddison’s replacement.

Maddison, 24, has throwm himself onto Arsenal’s shortlist this summer after 21 goal involvements in 42 games for the Foxes last season. Scoring 11, he created 10 more. Now, Arsenal want to sign him – with a previous report saying Maddison is keen on a move to The Emirates in the coming weeks.

Now, Football London explain how Manchester United and Lingard could help Arsenal get Maddison. Leicester have identified the ex-West Ham loanee as Maddison’s replacement if he does join Arsenal. So, Lingard could help Arsenal get Maddison by agreeing a move to the King Power.

Lingard in, Maddison out, is brilliant Leicester business

Given that Arsenal will have to pay £60million or close to it to get Maddison, Leicester could replace him with Lingard – for just £25million (Mail). There is little between Lingard and Maddison – and in fact, Lingard is probably more versatile. The United ace can play on either flank and as a 10.

But Maddison is more of a 10 or as a second striker. If Leicester can bring in more than £50million for Maddison and use less than half of the fee to replace him with a player on a similar playing field, then it is excellent business. Such a move suits Arsenal, too.
