Leeds United’s Jack Clarke is reportedly close to a switch to Tottenham and has a medical booked with the Premier League side.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Spurs are closing in on a deal for the whites attacker and talks have been stepped up in recent days.
It is understood that the 18-year-old will skip first-team training on Wednesday to undergo a medical with Spurs ahead of the move.
The Daily Mail also reports about Clarke’s imminent medical and states that a £10million agreement has been reached over his signature.
Clarke’s potential departure from Leeds has been heavily speculated about this summer and it looks like the deal is on the verge.
The winger has come through the ranks at Elland Road and may be about to leave his boyhood club.
He made 25 senior appearances across all competitions last season after breaking into Marcelo Bielsa’s first team, scoring two goals and supplying two assists in return.
The dazzling wide man has immense potential and is a great dribbler on the ball, which has been enough to convince Champions League runners-up Spurs to pounce for him.
Leeds have seen so many talented players leave them in recent years and it looks like Clarke will be the latest to do just that.
The teenager caught the eye whenever he was involved in the first team and his ability to take on a man must be frightening for a defender.
It looks unlikely that he could make an impression at Spurs next season given his lack of experience, but they must be banking on his potential and feel he is a star for the future that could develop under Mauricio Pochettino.
Clarke will be a loss to the Leeds squad for next season and Bielsa needs to ensure that he has enough quality attacking optins.
