Report: Intermediaries have offered Conte to Arsenal
Intermediaries have offered Antonio Conte to Arsenal as a replacement for Mikel Arteta, says ESPN.
However, the former Chelsea manager will only take over at the Emirates Stadium under the right conditions.
Mikel Arteta’s future is under the microscope after a torrid start to the new Premier League season.
The Gunners have lost each of their three league games, scoring none and conceding nine times.
And recent reports seem to suggest the Spaniard could be running out of time to turn it around. According to The Telegraph, the hierarchy at the Emirates Stadium have given the figure five games to turn it around.
Arsenal last sacked a manager back in 2019, when Unai Emery was shown the door after a turbulent 18 months in N5.
Conte would bring instant stability to Arsenal
It’s easy to see the appeal of Conte, who has been massively successful in his last few years of club football.
Conte is a serial winner and would bring instant stability to Arsenal.
It’s never easy to win league titles, no matter where you are. But, to do so in five of your last seven seasons in club football is something special.
Let us be honest, Arsenal are far from winning a league title. The gap between the Gunners and champions, Manchester City is far too big for one man to narrow.
However, as he shown with Chelsea back in 2016, Conte can make the best with what he has.
Winning the title with a squad that finished 10th the season before is a massive achievement.
Conte has the managerial quality to turn the north Londoners around. However, with the Gunners building for the future, it remains to be seen whether they do turn to the 52-year-old.
