Arsenal could face stiff competition to land one of their key targets, with Inter Milan set to start a bidding war for Corentin Tolisso.
That is, according to a report from Calciomercato, who claim that Inter are set to make the first move.
The 25-year-old, currently on the books at Bayern Munich, is a wanted man this summer. It was claimed this week that both Arsenal and Manchester United were interested in landing Tolisso.
Tolisso has struggled to get back to the fine form he showed in his first season in Germany. That is, in part, thanks to a serious injury suffered in his second year with Bayern.
However, the midfielder is now back and fully fit. But it appears Munich are willing to sell Tolisso, with Inter now looking to put themselves at the head of the pack.
The French international is also wanted by Juventus, Atletico Madrid, and Napoli, according to previous reports. (Foot Mercato)
Competition is fierce for top players it seems – TBR View
This summer is shaping up to a busy one for a number of clubs given the number of rumours flying around.
But the one thing that has become apparent is the number of clubs wanting the same player. Arsenal have been linked with a number of players. However, each time they’re linked, another European giant throws their name into the mix it seems.
The Gunners face an uphill task to land Tolisso. It’s a shame, too, as he’d be the ideal signing and someone who Arsenal fans would take to immediately.
Mikel Arteta will keep probing away, though. Eventually, he’ll get his breakthrough and it might just be with Tolisso.
