Inter Milan could scupper any hopes Liverpool have of landing Timo Werner, according to a report from Calciomercato.
The Italian giants are preparing themselves in case they lost star striker, Lautaro Martinez. The forward has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona over the last few weeks.

And Inter, who won’t want to sell Martinez without a replacement in mind, have apparently put Werner on their list of potential replacements for the 22-year-old.
It is believed Werner has a release clause in the region of £50m. However, a report from the Mirror via Sport 1 claimed that price could be even lower.
Inter would be able to pay that sort of fee if they cash in on Martinez. The Milan club will hope to capture the reported £97.6m release clause fee for their man.

Werner has interested Liverpool for a number of months now thanks to his goalscoring exploits in Germany this season.

One thing Liverpool won’t be too concerned with is pressure from Inter Milan. While the Italian giants are a big name, they are nowhere near the force they once were.
Secondly, they can’t offer the sort of free-flowing football Liverpool can. And finally, the Reds look capable of challenging for the Champions League for a number of years yet, something Inter seems a distance from doing.
Werner has already dropped hints over a potential Liverpool move in the past. It would, then, be highly surprising to see him move to Inter if the Reds affirm their interest.
