Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla has claimed on his official website that Inter Milan have returned with a second offer worth £12.8million plus bonuses for Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen, after their initial offer was turned down.
Eriksen, 27, made his 26th appearance of the season for Tottenham on Tuesday night as Spurs edged past Championship side Middlesbrough into the fourth round of the FA Cup – thanks to goals from Giovani Lo Celso and Erik Lamela.
His inclusion was perhaps slightly surprising given that Inter Milan had a bid of £8.5million rejected – as per the Daily Mail – earlier on in the day. Now, Inter are set to return with a second bid for the former Ajax star.
Indeed, Pedulla claims on his website that Inter will up their offer to £12.8million plus bonuses on top of that figure – which is closer to Tottenham’s £20million asking price (Mail). It remains to be seen if Spurs will accept Inter’s second bid.

TBR’s view – Tottenham’s £20m Eriksen request is fair
Daniel Levy had little choice but to block an £8.5million move to Inter. For a player of Eriksen’s quality, but also in his situation, a figure between £15million and £20million is more than fair.
The latest offer, then, completely depends on the size and likelihood of the bonuses. If they are for Eriksen to win the Champions League at Inter, then it is a waste of time. But a sizeable chunk of cash for appearances is tempting.
With a decent block of cash up front, Spurs may choose to accept Inter’s second offer. Jose Mourinho has made his first signing as Spurs boss, bringing in Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes on a loan-to-buy deal.
