Inter Milan are expecting a call from Tottenham Hotspur over Stefan de Vrij following the appointment of Antonio Conte, according to a report from Calciomercato.
Spurs have put a host of their Premier League rivals on alert by bringing Conte to North London.

It appears that they are gearing up for a busy January transfer window. It has been claimed that he could target up to four new signings in the winter.
And one of the players he may push to sign is de Vrij. Certainly, the Nerazzurri are bracing themselves for interest in the 29-year-old.
The Dutchman is out of contract at San Siro in 2023. And talks over a new deal have stopped, according to Calciomercato.

The report notes that de Vrij wants a salary of around £98,000-a-week at Inter. His club however, are not prepared to meet that figure.
Calciomercato reports that Inter could decide to sell if the stalemate does not end by the summer.
And with that, Inter are braced for a phone call from Tottenham for de Vrij.
De Vrij could prove a very shrewd addition for Tottenham
De Vrij must tick a lot of boxes for Conte. Of course, the pair worked together at Inter.
He will know what Conte wants in his back three better than most. He played 32 times in Serie A last year as Inter clinched the Scudetto.
De Vrij is excellent in possession having begun his career as a midfielder. He turns 30 next year. But given his contract situation, there is scope for an incredibly shrewd piece of business if Tottenham do make a move.
