Newcastle United look set for an exciting end to the summer transfer window.

So far, the Magpies have had a fairly modest summer on the transfer front.

Newcastle have bought Sven Botman and Nick Pope, and made Matt Targett’s loan stint permanent.

Now, it looks as though the Magpies are looking to bolster their attacking ranks before the deadline.

On Wednesday, reports emerged claiming Newcastle have agreed a club-record deal for Alexander Isak.

Prior to this, the Magpies were being heavily linked with Watford’s Joao Pedro.

But according to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs, Newcastle are trying to sign both players.

He took to Twitter with an update on the Magpies’ pursuit of Isak and Pedro:

According to 90Min, Newcastle remain confident of finalising a deal for Pedro.

Apparently, the Magpies already have an offer of £30million including add-ons on the table for the 20-year-old.

In addition, Pedro is reportedly keen on Newcastle and has made it known to Watford.

The likes of Everton, Wolves, Leeds, Nottingham Forest and Leicester are also understood to be in the race.

Pedro joined Watford from Fluminense in 2019 and has made 78 appearances, including 31 in the Premier League.

He has 14 goals and five assists for the Hornets, and has contributed to their bright start this season.

Rob Edwards described his performance in their season-opener against Sheffield United as “incredible“.
