A striker who was linked with Arsenal a few months ago and previously worked with Gunners legend Dennis Bergkamp is in a “hurry” to change clubs this summer, according to La Repubblica.
Milik, who has scored 12 goals in 22 games in all competitions for Napoli this season, is also thought to be on the radar of AC Milan, Atletico Madrid and Juventus, according to Goal.com.
The Poland international’s Napoli contract expires in 2021 and, although the Serie A side doesn’t want to part ways with him, the player himself has been deemed to be in a “hurry” to seal a move elsewhere, claims La Repubblica.
The outlet says Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is desperate to avoid strengthening bitter rivals Juventus, who are also interested, but would be prepared to accept an offer from England below their £45million asking price.
Milik is a high-calibre forward, who boasts numerous qualities including pace, strength, agility, great movement on and off the ball, a powerful shot and an equally strong header.
The Napoli forward has worked closely with Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp during his time at Ajax and, with the Gunners reportedly interested, he could potentially be tempted to follow in his former mentor’s footsteps.
“When I joined [Ajax] we had a good relationship because I wanted to spend time after training working on my technique,” Milik said back in 2016 of his relationship with Bergkamp, according to the Daily Star.
“We had good contact between us. We text each other and I send him my greetings from here. Dennis is a special person, a player who had a great career and you can constantly learn from him. I try to take as much as possible from him.”
Admittedly his price tag isn’t cheap, but if Arsenal end up selling either Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette this summer, the Pole could be a high-profile replacement.
