Report: Hugo Lloris has snubbed new Spurs contract
A report from The Sun has hinted that Hugo Lloris could leave Spurs this summer having rejected the offer of a new contract.
Tottenham fans are currently coming to terms with the news that Harry Kane wants to leave at the end of the season.
Unfortunately for Spurs, it appears that Kane’s desire to go could have a knock-on effect on the rest of the squad. And according to The Sun, it could prompt others to consider their future.
Interestingly, immediately after raising the notion of an exodus at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, The Sun notes that Lloris has one year left on his deal and has rejected fresh terms.
Of course, that would mean that Spurs face a tough decision on Lloris’s future. He will have to leave this summer if Tottenham hope to receive any sort of fee for the £100,000-a-week Frenchman.
Having said that, his form of late suggests that Tottenham may be better off keeping him for the final year of his contract and letting him go for free next year.
He has arguably been one of Spurs’ better performers when they have struggled. And he has potentially taken some of the pressure off Tottenham as they consider his long-term replacement.
And if Kane is going, Tottenham may be wary of letting another key figure go in the same window.
