Report: How Tottenham's senior players actually feel about Daniel Levy and Nuno right now
Tottenham Hotspur’s senior players have some sympathy for Nuno and don’t want to hide behind him and Daniel Levy, the Athletic say.
No more hiding
Nuno has made a rather inauspicious start to life at Tottenham, having seen his side lose their last three matches.
There is now a fear that his days at Spurs are already numbered, despite him being in the role for just a matter of months.
Tottenham’s players have played a part in both Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho losing their jobs in recent times.
And apparently there is a fear that the Spurs squad could do the same to Nuno.
Senior players still on side
However, Tottenham’s senior players apparently believe that they may need to be accountable this time.
The players don’t want to be seen to be hiding their failures behind another manager or Levy, both of whom who have faced real criticism of late.
If Tottenham’s senior players are now to rally behind Nuno they will need to seriously improve their level of performances.
The likes of Heung-Min Son, Harry Kane and Tanguy Ndombele are players who could be talismanic for Spurs, but none of the trio have looked particularly impressive under the new boss.
Tottenham are in action later tonight when they take on Mura in the Conference League, when they will be expected to return to winning ways.
