The Tottenham squad are reportedly feeling much stronger fitness wise under Nuno Espirito Santo compared to former boss Jose Mourinho.
According to The Athletic, Spurs players were “losing their sharpness” during Mourinho’s time in charge.
Mourinho was sacked by the north London club back in April after 17 months in charge, but has returned to management now with Italian club Roma.
The report says that the Spurs group feel “much fitter” after a pre-season under Nuno.
Nuno is reportedly fairly quiet away from the training pitches, but the squad are enjoying his methods.

Nuno will be different coach to Mourinho at Tottenham
This is not a dig at Mourinho. There’s more than one way to skin a cat and it’s wrong to question someone with an outrageous CV like the Portuguese coach.
However, it sounds like Spurs fans can look forward to watching a fitter team in the new campaign.
It could mean they ramp up distance covered in games and there is no doubt Nuno’s team at Wolves would’ve run through brick walls for him.
The start of his cycle at Molineux saw them storm to promotion from the Championship and then record back-to-back seventh-placed finishes in the Premier League. He created a really close-knit group at Wolves, so fingers crossed for Spurs he can replicate that again.
