Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce will not quit the club, despite what must be a disappointing transfer window, the Telegraph report (21:06 update).
No quit
Some Newcastle fans had suggested that Bruce should resign due to the lack of backing he received in the transfer window.
Bruce did manage to land Joe Willock, but Newcastle saw a number of other potential deals fall through, even on deadline day.
It was then suggested that Bruce should pen a resignation letter.
But the Newcastle boss apparently feel that he would be letting down the club’s staff and players if he was to quit now.
Battling against the drop
Bruce reportedly feels that Newcastle need him to save them from relegation, after what has been a poor start to the term.
His stance is likely to rankle with some supporters, who have been heard chanting against him at home games this season.
Bruce has always had his doubters at Newcastle, and those voices are just growing louder.

If Bruce had wanted an injection of quality to make his job easier, yesterday was a disaster.
Newcastle’s only signing over the summer was Willock, which means that they have the same starting line-up as at the back end of last season.
Newcastle have began the season by collecting just one point from their first three games, and face Manchester United immediately after the international break.
