The Athletic has revealed how Daniel Levy actually feels about the possibility of selling Tottenham Hotspur right now.
ENIC purchased Alan Sugar’s stake in the club back in December 2000 and Levy has been on the board ever since.
The Tottenham chairman divides opinion amongst the Spurs fanbase, with many feeling that he has failed to take the club to the next level during his time in north London.
While some look at the progress Spurs have made off the pitch in terms of their state-of-the-art training facilities and impressive stadium that opened in 2019.

How Levy feels about selling Tottenham
ENIC owns a 85.56 per cent stake in Tottenham at this moment in time and are in no rush to sell the club.
The Athletic notes that there have been plenty of discussions about selling Spurs over the years, including with now Chelsea owner Todd Boehly just three years ago.
The American apparently came close to buying the club for around £2.3 billion. But ENIC’s valuation of Spurs remains high and Levy is not keen to sell his shares.
He does not want to retire just yet and is keen to oversee the next phase of Tottenham’s success.

Tottenham’s official website explains the breakdown of the ultimate ownership of the club.
It reads: “Of the total issued ordinary share capital of Tottenham Hotspur Limited (THL), ENIC SPORTS INC. (ENIC) owns 85.56%. ENIC also owns all of THL’s convertible A shares.
“Mr D Levy and certain members of his family are potential beneficiaries of discretionary trusts which ultimately own 29.88% of the share capital of ENIC.
“A discretionary trust of which certain members of Mr J Lewis’s family are potential beneficiaries ultimately owns 70.12% of the share capital of ENIC.”
Barring a massive takeover bid, it seems that ENIC will not be selling their stake in Tottenham any time soon and even announced a £150 million cash injection over the summer.
It’s quite difficult to measure the success of Daniel Levy’s reign at Spurs over the past 22 years. The club has only picked up one trophy in that time period, which came way back in 2008.
But there’s no denying that ENIC have managed Tottenham’s growth off the pitch excellently.
Spurs fans will be hoping that this begins to translate onto the pitch sooner rather than later. And with a manager like Antonio Conte in charge at the moment, it seems that ENIC are aiming to deliver silverware as soon as possible.
But they will have to continue to back the Italian in the transfer market in order to keep him happy. If Conte feels he can challenge for trophies at Spurs, the near future could be bright for the north London club.
