Rob Holding is set to stay at Arsenal this summer despite alleged interest from two Premier League clubs.
What’s the story?
Reports from over the last few weeks claimed the defender was attracting interest from Newcastle and Leicester.
However, according to football.london, the centre-back is set to stay at the Emirates Stadium. Holding only signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract last January after an impressive run of form.
News about the centre-back comes after the Gunners made the £50m signing of Ben White from Brighton.
The arrival of the 23-year-old has increased competition for starting places at Arsenal. Calum Chambers, Gabriel Magalhaes and Pablo Mari are three more options available to Mikel Arteta next season.
Arteta has previously said the ‘incredible‘ ace is an important player for the club.

Holding facing a fight for his future
The recent transfer activity at the club would not have pleased the defender.
He was in great form for the Gunners last season. It could even be argued he was by far the side’s most consistent defender.
With Arteta’s men having conceded the third-least number of goals last term, you can say he was playing at a very high level.
However, as seen in pre-season White could go on to be a crucial addition to the Londoners. His performances have been brilliant so far, with the star adding quality on the ball.
As a result, the future of Holding at Arsenal is under threat as he looks to stay.
At 25, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the ace move on in the near future.
If it was a straight shootout between Holding and White for a starting place, the England international wins every day of the week.
