Report hints West Ham could target Tammy Abraham; Aston Villa also admirers

A report from The Telegraph has hinted that West Ham United could be interested in signing Tammy Abraham this summer, while Aston Villa are also said to be admirers of the striker.

Abraham could be facing an uncertain future at Chelsea. He was left out of Thomas Tuchel’s match day squad at the weekend.

And The Telegraph has suggested that talks over a new deal are yet to start. His current terms of around £80,000-a-week will have two years left to run in the summer.

The report suggests a host of sides could test the Blues’ resolve to keep the 23-year-old. And it appears that West Ham could be involved in the running.

The Telegraph notes that the Irons are one of the teams who are keen to sign a striker this summer. And it is suggested that they would definitely be interested in Abraham.

Meanwhile, The Telegraph adds that the Villans remain admirers of their former loanee. However, the links with Dean Smith’s men do not appear to be quite as strong with the report alluding to their move for Ollie Watkins last year.

Abraham has not had the best year at Stamford Bridge. He has scored six goals in 20 Premier League games. Admittedly, he has only started 12 times.

But he scored 41 league goals across the previous two campaigns – including 15 in the top flight last season.

So it should not come as a huge surprise if he is a big success if given the chance to leave. And judging by The Telegraph’s report, the Hammers and Villa could be two clubs who offer him a fresh challenge if they learn that he is available this summer.
