Report hints at Spurs' asking price for Tanguy Ndombele
Spurs would like to recoup the £55 million they spent on Tanguy Ndombele should they end up looking to sell the Frenchman, according to a report from The Athletic.
Ndombele’s future is back on the agenda. Nuno Espirito Santo decided against using him in the pre-season clash with Arsenal at the weekend.
The Athletic reports that he is considering his options. It is also noted that the potential departures of close friends Serge Aurier and Moussa Sissoko may be a factor.
And it seems that Spurs may be open to considering offers – but for a hefty sum.
According to The Athletic, Tottenham would ideally like to get their money back should they sell the 24-year-old.
Intriguing, The Athletic adds that some of their sources are confident that a buyer for Ndombele could be found. They do however, note that others are less convinced.
Last chance saloon for Ndombele at Spurs?
It is a huge shame that it has come to this. Ndombele looks to have an outrageous amount of talent. And he has shown glimpses during his time in North London.
However, there have been some ominous signs. Nuno is in danger of becoming the fourth Tottenham manager to either struggle to find a place for Ndombele in his plans or not get the best out of him.
There is still time to turn the situation around. It is incredibly difficult to imagine Spurs receiving a tempting offer this summer given his asking price.
So Ndombele is surely likely to stay. And he is simply too good a player for Nuno to completely overlook.
His chances will come if he sticks around. But the onus is most definitely on Ndombele to make the most of them.
