According to The Sun, Burnley are ready to sell Nick Pope next summer, despite him being one of their best players in the 2017/18 season.
With Tom Heaton and Joe Hart preferred to him, Pope’s future is in doubt amid links with Arsenal.
And the same report hints that Leeds United could also be keen. The copy claims “clubs getting promoted from the Championship are looking at the ex-Charlton man as an option”.
Pope could be a good option for Leeds if they win promotion as he would provide strong competition with Spanish stopper Kiko Casilla.
But where would that leave Bailey Peacock-Farrell? This would push him even further down the pecking order at Elland Road.
The Northern Ireland international was Leeds’ number one for most of the season but his inconsistent form forced Marcelo Bielsa to sign Casilla in January.

Peacock-Farrell produced some good performances but he was also prone to the occasional error which was not ideal in a promotion push.
But the 22-year-old is still young and Leeds should not give up on him, even if they sign Pope in the summer.
The most sensible short-term plan would be to use Pope and Casilla in the Premier League, with Peacock-Farrell heading to a Championship club on loan.
With more experience under his belt, the Leeds academy starlet could return to Yorkshire ready to compete for the starting jersey.
