Report highlights how Juventus' £58.3m plan is bad news for Everton
Everton’s hopes of signing Moise Kean this summer could be scuppered by Juventus’ pursuit of Matthijs De Ligt.
Everton have been linked with the Italian international this summer. Tuttomercatoweb originally reported the news and Everton have continued to be linked with the teenage talent. Calciomercato later suggested Everton had made a £26 million bid for the player.
Sporting director Marcel Brands’ good links with Kean’s agent Mino Raiola have helped build credence around the reports.
However, it appears interest from Juventus in Ajax superstar De Ligt could be an issue for Everton.
Juventus are one of many clubs keen on the Dutch wonderkid. In order to try and win the race for the Ajax captain, Juventus could reportedly offer Ajax a sweetener in any deal. The player in question is Kean.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Ajax like Kean and Juventus could offer him as part of any deal to bring De Ligt to Turin.
Voetbal International recently reported that Juventus want to pay €65 million (£58.3 million) for De Ligt, a fee short of Ajax’s valuation. Kean could act as a way of bridging the financial gap of any deal. As far as De Ligt is concerned, VI claim that Juventus is now his preferred option.
Everton might be hoping that De Ligt does head elsewhere. Because, at this rate, it seems any move to Juventus might kill their chances of bringing in Kean.
