Tottenham have been rocked by the news that two players in the squad have been struck down by Covid-19, ahead of their trip to St James’ Park to face Newcastle United.
Reports last night suggested that two Spurs players have tested positive and will now have to self-isolate. It means the pair will miss two PL games, and a European tie with Vitesse.
There has been no official confirmation as yet. However, it’s being widely suggested on social media that Heung-Min Son and Bryan Gil are the two players affected by the issue.

And in what appears to be the biggest confirmation yet, The Evening Standard have left Son out of their predicted XI and stated that the South Korean is ‘not expected to feature’ this weekend.
The news will be a bitter blow to Nuno Santo and Tottenham. Son, in particular, has been the standout performer this season in what has been an up and down campaign.
TBR’s View: Son a huge loss for Tottenham, Nuno will be gutted
What a nightmare for Nuno and Tottenham this is. And out of all the players it could be, it’s Son, who has been the star of the show.
It means the Spurs boss must now act quickly to pick his new team. It could mean Steven Bergwijn is thrust straight into the action. Harry Kane, too, will also need to step back up to the plate.
This is just typical of what has been a tough season for Spurs so far.
