Sky Germany have claimed that Hector Bellerin is ready to leave Arsenal this summer almost a decade after first swapping Barcelona for north London – and Bayern Munich are ready to take advantage.

Bellerin, 25, has clocked up an enormous 195 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners after joining the club in 2011 – and is now vice-captain under Mikel Arteta. His £110k-a-week contract (Spotrac) is due to expire in the summer of 2023.

A three-time Spain international, Bellerin is one of the more senior players at the Emirates but an interesting summer awaits for the right-back. Arteta also lured Cedric Soares to the club from Southampton in the January window.

The report states that Bayern are keen on Bellerin with the player ready to end his long-term spell at Arsenal, with Bellerin perfect for Hansi Flick’s style of play. The Bundesliga returned to action last weekend, with Bayern beating Union Berlin 2-0.

TBR’s view – Keeping Bellerin is crucial

Not only because he is a top right-back, but Bellerin is an Arsenal icon in the making. With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang likely to leave in the coming months, there is every chance that Bellerin could become Arsenal’s new skipper.

When on the top of his game, he is one of Europe’s best right-backs. Injury has played havoc but given a run of games, starting and finishing 90 minutes, Bellerin’s confidence will return. Keeping him is crucial to Arteta’s chances of success.
