Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Marcelo Bielsa has finally agreed to remain as Leeds United manager for another season – after the club returned to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years.
Bielsa initially joined Leeds in 2018 and failed in his first campaign – losing to Frank Lampard’s Derby County in the play-off semi-finals. A season later, though, a much stronger Leeds finished top of the table as champions.
The Argentine initially signed a one-year deal with extension of another year. Last summer, he re-signed for a further season and in similar vain, it is believed that the former Argentina manager has agreed a one-year renewal.
It sees Bielsa remain as manager for a third season, to the delight of Leeds fans who hold him in legendary status – largely due to his quirky personality, engagement with fans and success on the pitch.

TBR’s view – Most important signing of the summer
Just as it was last season. Bielsa has become an even better manager as he becomes more experienced by the day in English football. He has galvanised a despondent footballing city, taking them back to where they belong.
He will now be tasked with keeping Leeds in the Premier League and solidifying but given the size of the club and expectation from fans, finishing in 17th will not be enough for a side that cruised into first last term.
Keeping Bielsa, though, was more important than even signing Ben White.
