Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer is reportedly attracting interest from German club Bayer Leverkusen.
Herald and Times Sport, as quoted by Glasgow Evening Times, reports that Leverkusen as keen on the 23-year-old Hoops star.
It is explained that the Bundesliga side has made contact with the player’s representatives.
The report states that Premier League side Newcastle United, as well as recently promoted Norwich City, are interested in Ajer. But Leverkusen are hijacking that interest with an approach.
Leverkusen are looking to raid Celtic again after signing Jeremie Frimpong from them in January.
Ajer, 23, has been an ever-present this season at Parkhead.
The towering 6ft 6in centre-back is widely expected to leave though this summer. He’s a £14,000-a-week ace (Salary Sport) who’s been with them since 2016.

Ajer hole at Celtic would need filling with serious investment
If Ajer does leave in the summer transfer window, Scottish giants Celtic need to make sure they replace him properly.
The Norwegian ball-playing centre-half has the quality to play in either the Bundesliga or Premier League.
A £16million-rated price tag (Daily Record) has been mooted for the Celtic ace, who on his day is rock solid in the heart of defence.
Celtic’s recruitment team need to find a quality centre-back who can slot straight into their XI next year.
