Turkish giants Galatasaray are eyeing up a move for Liverpool winger, Xherdan Shaqiri, as the Reds look to create room in their squad over the summer.
According to Turkish outlet Fotomac, the Switzerland star is wanted by Galatasaray head coach, Fatih Tehrim.
Shaqiri has been on the periphery of things in the main ever since arriving at Anfield. He has, however, proved to be a useful squad player as Jurgen Klopp’s men have enjoyed European success and now, domestic success.
However, his time with the club could be coming to an end this summer. Liverpool are reportedly in the market to land German sensation Timo Werner. That means freeing up funds and space in the squad, something the sale of Shaqiri can help with.
The Reds would also be clearing quite a chunk off their wage bill in the process, too. Indeed, according to Sportrac, Shaqiri currently commands a hefty £80k-a-week.
That sort of sum would go some way to contributing to a deal for Werner.

There was always going to be some sacrifices made at Liverpool. The club needs to keep strengthening the squad and can’t afford to stand still.
Given Werner is such a hot topic of discussion, the likes of Shaqiri were always going to come up in conversation.
The Swiss winger has been a good and professional player for the Reds. Although his time may come to an end, he’s still got plenty in the tank and will be a good signing over in Turkey.
