Turkish outlet Takvim have claimed that SuperLig side Galatasaray have scouted on-loan Newcastle United striker Salomon Rondon and are interested in signing the powerful striker this summer.
Rondon, 29, has starred for Newcastle since joining the Premier League side on loan from West Bromwich Albion last summer. He has scored 10 goals, and created six more in his 30 Newcastle appearances.
The Express & Star have claimed that Rondon has a release clause in his current West Brom contract, worth £16.5million. It is believed that the clause will only become active again, if the Baggies fail to gain promotion.
The report claims that Rondon will be watched before the end of the season by Fatih Terim’s scouts, before Galatasaray make a decision on whether they want to sign the Venezuela international.

TBR’s view
Newcastle have got to sign Rondon, simple as that. He has been absolutely pivotal to the Toon, not only for his goals and assists, but for his ability to contribute to play.
At £16.5million, it is a bargain. He is a proven Premier League striker with pace, power and technique in abundance. Losing out to Rondon would be an enormous blow.
So if Galatasaray land Rondon, Newcastle fans will be more than within their rights to be frustrated at owner Mike Ashley.
