Gabriel Jesus has been passed fit to play for Arsenal on Thursday against Bodo/Glimt, despite the striker not training on Wednesday, according to a report from the London Evening Standard.

Jesus appeared to be a potential doubt for the clash in Norway after Sunday’s win against Liverpool. The Brazilian required treatment on the pitch after a nasty looking collision with Kostas Tsimikas.

There was huge concern immediately amongst the players as Jesus briefly lied motionless on the Emirates turf. And replays showed that the Liverpool left-back had caught the striker in the face with his forearm.

Arsenal receive injury boost

Jesus came off for the final minutes at the weekend. And there may have been reason for alarm ahead of their latest Europa League tie this week. As noted by the London Evening Standard, the 25-year-old did not feature in training.

The good news is that Jesus did not sustain a concussion, and his absence was precautionary. The Evening Standard reports that he will indeed be available to play on Thursday.

Gabriel Jesus passed fit

Jesus’ availability is a huge boost for Arsenal. He has been absolutely outstanding since arriving at the Emirates. And it appears that his move has helped raise the standards across the board.

In fairness, Eddie Nketiah does appear to have stepped up a level this season. The 23-year-old has looked bright whenever he has got an opportunity. And you would imagine that he will start once again on Thursday.

However, there is a sense of uncertainty surrounding how Arsenal would fare if they lost Jesus for any significant period of time.

He is a ‘fantastic‘ player. And he brings the absolute best out of those around him. So it would be a big blow if he was to miss any games in the Premier League.

Thankfully, it seems that Arsenal do not have to cross that bridge just yet.
