Fulham are looking to tie up a deal for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek before the deadline, according to the Daily Mail.

The England midfielder – he has 10 caps for the Three Lions – is way down the pecking order under Frank Lampard following a flurry of summer signings and could now move away for regular football.

Fulham are thought to be desperate to add some new names to their ranks ahead of their next game with Sheffield United. The Cottagers, like the Blades, are yet to pick up a point this season.

Along with two defenders, Lofuts-Cheek has been identified as a player who can bring creativity and attacking poise to Scott Parker’s outfit.

The 24-year-old has never quite got going with Chelsea, despite being in and out of the first-team squad in the last few seasons. It is believed Fulham are looking at concluding a loan deal to bring him to Craven Cottage.

Loftus-Cheek should be a Premier League regular by now, not just sitting around at Chelsea waiting for chances.

A move to Fulham could work out. He’d get games and wouldn’t be far from home either, something which can often be crucial for players when they do move clubs.

With a bit of luck, the Chelsea man can fulfil his potential. He has it in there, having gained international recognition. Hopefully, this move could be the trigger that Loftus-Cheek needs.
