Fulham have looked to steal a march on West Ham in the race to sign M’Bala Nzola, with Foot Mercato reporting that Scott Parker’s men have had a bid for the striker rejected.
Nzola is one of the most in-form goalscorers in Europe right now. The 24-year-old has scored nine goals in 13 Serie A games for Spezia this season.
And his form is not going unnoticed. French outlet Foot Mercato has reported that West Ham are closely monitoring the Frenchman as David Moyes looks to sign another striker.
But it appears to be Fulham have made the first move. The report claims that the promoted side have made a bid of around £10.6 million for the forward.
However, it has been suggested that Spezia have turned down the offer. It appears that they are hoping to keep him for the rest of the season.
It remains to be seen if any of his admirers plan to make any further offers before the window closes.
West Ham are yet to bolster their attacking options since Sebastien Haller departed.
In fairness, Michail Antonio continues to impress. He has certainly taken a lot of the pressure off of the club.
It would still be a gamble to let the window close without signing another attacking player. But if West Ham enjoy a little luck, there is no reason why they cannot continue to thrive without further additions.
