Everton could be set to launch a bid to sign Real Madrid outcast, James Rodriguez.
The Colombian star has fallen well down the pecking order at the Bernabeu. Indeed, he’s spent the last two seasons out on loan with Bayern Munich.

Rodriguez has worked with Ancelotti before at both Madrid and Bayern. Naturally, then, the attacking midfielder is a player who is going to be linked with wherever the Italian coach goes.
And according to a new report from the Mirror, Ancelotti has given the green light to the Toffees to try and pursue a loan deal for the Real Madrid man.
Rodriguez got his big-money move to Real off the back of a stellar 2014 World Cup in Brazil. However, despite a good start, he’s slipped down the pecking order in the Spanish capital.
Marquee signing
Despite a slight fall from grace, ‘James’ is still seen by many as one of the world’s top attacking midfield players.
Furthermore, with Everton continuing to try and build their club into a more global force and brand, the signing of Rodriguez would make a lot of sense.

There’s little doubting his class too. He wasn’t at his best in Munich but on both occasions, he managed seven league goals in just over 20 appearances. He is capable of better, of course, but those stats are still admirable.
He’d definitely give a boost to the fans and if anything, raise the levels of quality in and around the club on a daily basis.

Signing James Rodriguez would be a smart move for Everton but only if they can get the best out of him.
It’s a shame what’s happened in the last few seasons. But, the talent is still there and if he feels like turning it on, then the Toffees would have a fine player on their hands.
