Report: French club Nice interested in possible loan move for Arsenal’s William Saliba

A new club have reportedly entered the fray for Arsenal defender William Saliba.

According to But! Football Club, Ligue 1 outfit Nice have been monitoring the Frenchman’s situation.

Patrick Vieira’s side were recently stung by a season-ending injury to experienced centre-back Dante, and it is understood they may dip into the transfer market next month to find cover, with Gunners youngster Saliba a possible loan target.

Previously, there has been some talk about the player returning to his former club Saint-Etienne on loan.

Supposedly a move was in the pipeline, but it collapsed on transfer deadline day.

Saliba has since been left out of Arsenal’s Premier League squad, and Mikel Arteta has spoken of his frustration about the situation.

But! Football Club say the player’s preference would be to rejoin his old club on loan, but Nice are in the hunt.

At the moment he’s with the U23s, but realistically he needs to be experiencing senior football on a regular basis.

Either Arteta should include him in his updated Premier League squad when the time comes, or he should be permitted to join Nice or Saint-Etienne until the end of the season.
