Football website 90Min have claimed that four European clubs are battling it out to sign Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette this summer with the Frenchman’s contract situation up in the air – including Spanish and French clubs.
Lacazette, 29, is set to enter the final 12 months of his Arsenal contract and if the Gunners are to bring in some cash for the ex-Lyon man’s signature – then they will have to let him go this summer, unless he signs a new deal.
The France international has been in somewhat inconsistent form this season, scoring 13 goals in 35 appearances. But the report claims Arsenal are ready to sell the powerful striker, rather than let him go on a free in 2022.
It is claimed Antonio Conte wants him at Inter Milan, while Sevilla, Roma and Atletico Madrid are all interested in signing the £182,000-a-week (Spotrac) star. It remains to be seen how much Arsenal want for the striker.
TBR’s view – What is a good price for Lacazette?
Turning 30 at the end of May, Lacazette is now edging past what is considered his prime years. However, he is clearly still more than capable of scoring goals at the highest level. Arsenal paid a whopping £46.5million for him in 2017.
If Arsenal get anything above £25million for Lacazette, then they really need to consider cashing in on a striker that is failing to score at a ratio of one every two games – especially, given his current contract situation.
