Arsenal teenager Folarin Balogun could be on his way out of the Gunners, with the Metro claiming that the striker is ‘frustrated’ at his lack of development at the club.

Balogun is, according to the report, upset about his apparent lack of first-team chances under Mikel Arteta, despite making his full debut in the last few weeks.

The teenager is said to be one of the more highly-rated players at The Emirates who is trying to break through. He was linked with a move to Sheffield United in the summer, although the Blades didn’t want to pay the asking price.

But Balogun could be on his way out anyway, it seems. No progress has been made on a new contract according to the Metro, and Balogun could well see a chance to move on and get some regular first-team football under his belt.

Indeed, Pierre-Emerick Aubamayeng has praised the youngster. The Gabon star insisting the striker needs to stay patient.

However, with the January window around the corner, Balogun may well be free to negotiate a move away ahead of a summer switch.

The problem Balogun has is how does he dislodge the players who are already ahead of him at Arsenal?

Lacazette is the experienced name in the ranks, while Aubameyang is skipper. Beyond that, Eddie Nketiah is making a big impression and with only one striker in Arteta’s system, Balogun could struggle.

It’s a tough call for the forward. He could move on and excel. But on the other hand, he could move and find himself fighting to play elsewhere. Either way, it would appear Arsenal want their man to stay around for now.
