Everton youngster Ellis Simms is reportedly being eyed by five top-flight clubs ahead of the summer.

According to the Sun, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Monaco and Lyon all have an interest in the 18-year-old Englishman.

It is understood that Toffees manager Marco Silva is impressed by the striker and is even considering handing him a senior debut.

The report further details that the attacker’s scholarship deal will expire in the summer, but the Merseyside club want to tie him down to a professional one at Goodison Park.

Simms has scored 41 goals in his last 33 games and is a highly-rated talent in Everton’s Under-18s side.

TBR’s View:

Everton have had plenty of success to come out of their academy in recent years and Simms is clearly a goal machine thriving at youth level.

Whether he could make the step up to the first team remains to be seen, but Silva is known to be an admirer and the club should fend off interest for now.

They need to wrap up the teenager to a professional deal quickly to resolve his future and see if he can become a star at Goodison.

Everton do need more forward options in the senior squad and it’s been done before where an academy talent has broken into the first team.

Simms definitely has a physical presence and eye for goal, which is why testing him around the first team in training could be a smart next step.
