A report from Sky Sports has named five clubs chasing Tottenham Hotspur winger Jack Clarke on loan in January.
Clarke had a point to prove going into this season. He endured two hugely disappointing loan spells last term following his £10 million move to North London (fee reported by the Guardian).
Sky Sports reports however, that the winger has impressed Jose Mourinho this term. And he has been rewarded with a couple of Europa League appearances for Spurs.
But it now appears that he could be on the move once again this month. Sky Sports has named five Championship sides who want Clarke on loan.
Middlesbrough, Stoke City, Swansea City, Sheffield Wednesday and Coventry City all reportedly want the 20-year-old.
The number of options is excellent for Tottenham and Clarke. They can consider where he is likely to play most and which side’s style would benefit him most as he looks to make the grade with Mourinho’s men.
If he can rediscover the form that he showed when he burst into the Leeds United side in 2018, it could prove to be a defining spell in the youngster’s career.
He was simply sensational in the weeks following his senior debut. It was those performances that must have convinced Spurs to part with an eight-figure fee just a few months later.
And finding that form once again may go a long way towards putting Clarke amongst Mourinho’s plans ahead of his return to Tottenham leading into next season.
