Turkish outlet Gunes has claimed that Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli has opened talks to sign Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos this summer.
Morelos, 22, is in excellent form for Rangers this season, having scored 29 goals for Steven Gerrard’s side this season. He has also created 10 goals, and signed a new deal which sees him remain at Ibrox until 2023.
But the links have not stopped. The Express have claimed that OGC Nice, Cardiff City and Eintracht Frankfurt are all interested, while Sky Sports have since claimed that Borussia Dortmund and Leicester City are keen.
Now, it is believed that former Liverpool and Tottenham chief Comolli has opened negotiations with Rangers in a bid to lure the Colombia international away from Scotland and to Turkey.
Losing Morelos is a huge blow. Fans have seen just that this season. With the striker known for his lack of discipline, he has sat out plenty of matches due to suspension.
Without Morelos, Rangers struggle. Indeed, they lost to Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup semi-final, as well as being held to draws by St. Johnstone and Dundee.
So selling the former HJK Helsinki striker would be an enormous blow – especially if they are unable to replace him well enough. It depends on how much Fener are willing to spend.
