West Ham playmaker Manuel Lanzini is reportedly wanted by Turkish club Fenerbahce.

According to the Mirror, Fenerbahce’s sporting director Damien Comolli is a big admirer of the attacking midfielder and want to sign him this summer.

But the report detail that are losing the battle for him and he could be in line for a new five-year contract at the London Stadium.

It is understood West Ham are trying to fend off interest in the 26-year-old and manager Manuel Pellegrini considers him a key part of his vision moving forward to turn the team into European contenders.

Lanzini played just 10 times this season following his return from a long-term injury, but it looks like Pellegrini is a big fan of his.

The Argentina international is a fan favourite with Hammers supporters and they would be furious if he exited.

TBR’s View:

Lanzini is certainly one of the most talented individuals at West Ham and he will play a major role next season if he can stay fit.

It makes sense to extend his current deal that is due to expire in 2020.

The South American playmaker adds extra creativity going forward and should fit in well with Pellegrini’s style.

He’s shown in the past that he can be a real force in the Premier League when on form and will hope next year can see him rediscover his best form.
