Turkish newspaper Aksam claim that Fenerbahce have joined the race to sign Rangers-linked striker Mirko Maric from Croatian side NK Osijek this summer.
Maric, 23, has been excellent for Osijek this season, scoring an enormous 18 goals and laying on a further seven assists. It shows he simply is not a goal getter, but also provide a creative aspect to his side.
Known for his physicality and aerial prowess at 6ft 2in, two-time Croatia international’s wonderful form has now seen both Rangers and Fenerbahce linked with a move to land the striker.
The Daily Record claim Rangers have been scouting Maric, and have been quoted a figure of £3million to land the striker. It is believed that Kyle Lafferty is set to leave the club this summer, after a difficult return to Ibrox.

But Rangers may now struggle to sign Maric, with Turkish SuperLig side Fenerbahce looking to land Maric after a woeful campaign that saw the Turkish side narrowly avoid relegation.
TBR’s view
Maric would be an excellent signing for Rangers, as he continues to shine in Croatian football. Indeed, he is better than Borna Barisic and Eros Grezda, who came from the same club last summer.
However, a move to Fenerbahce will surely prove rather tantalising, even more so than Rangers. But the Gers do have European football offer, whereas Fener do not. It remains to be seen where Maric will choose.
