Report: 'Fantastic' Tottenham target now wants Premier League move; he's been compared to Ozil

Tottenham Hotspur have hit the ground running in the summer transfer window.

Spurs have already signed Yves Bissouma, Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic.

In addition, Tottenham are reportedly in talks over Djed Spence.

According to‘s Alasdair Gold, Spurs are looking to strengthen all over the pitch.

In terms of attacking midfield, Tottenham were reportedly eyeing Christian Eriksen earlier in the window.

However, Spurs are since believed to have cooled their interest in the Denmark international.

Eintracht Frankfurt star Daichi Kamada is another playmaker reportedly on the radar of Tottenham.

SportBILD – via Sport Witness – claimed in May that Spurs had the Japan international on their wishlist.

Now, a new report has emerged which could give Tottenham a boost in their pursuit of Kamada.

Frankfurter Rundschau – also via Sport Witness – claim the 25-year-old ‘is on the move’ this summer.

In addition, Kamada – whose contract expires next summer – is ‘drawn to’ a Premier League switch.

And if Spurs were to make a move, they’d likely only have to pay a ‘high single-digit in the millions range’.

The outlet does state that ‘nothing is fixed yet’.

However, both the player and his club ‘would not be averse’ to a deal happening under ‘certain conditions’.

Tottenham target Kamada – factfile

Kamada shone for Frankfurt in their Europa League-winning run last season.

He registered an impressive five goals – including one against West Ham – and one assist in the competition.

His overall tally for the Bundesliga club reads 131 appearances, 24 goals and 27 assists.

In addition, Kamada has won 19 caps for Japan, scoring five times.

In 2019, some Arsenal fans lauded the player for scoring a brace against the Gunners in the Europa League.

Arsenal’s 2-1 loss to Frankfurt turned out to be Unai Emery’s final game in charge of the north Londoners.

“He waited so long for his first goals, perhaps the dam’s broken,” Frankfurt sporting director Fredi Bobic said following Kamada’s brace against Arsenal.

“He was brilliant, he’s a fantastic player.”

“We may soon see Kamada play for one of the European giants”

Last year, scouting website Breaking the Lines provided an in-depth analysis of Kamada.

“Kamada is in a rich vein of form and has become an indispensable member of the squad after successfully establishing himself as a talented player who is versatile and fits into a variety of tactical set-ups,” they wrote.

“He’s also capable of scoring a variety of goals and further contributes to his team either by assisting directly or creating space with his runs and movement.

“Keeping this level up means that we may soon see Kamada play for one of the European giants.”

On Twitter, fans have compared the reported Tottenham target to Mesut Ozil and Alexander Hleb.
