Report: 'Fantastic' player tells club he's ready to leave Arsenal, they just need to agree a deal
Arsenal winger Willian has agreed to the idea of moving to Corinthians, Goal.com say.
Willian to leave?
Willian has apparently said yes to the idea of moving to the Brazilian side, although there are issues to sort out.
The Arsenal winger wants the Gunners to make up the difference in his salary, as Corinthians cannot match his current wage.
Willian is on a hefty salary at Arsenal and while Corinthians would be willing to pay around 50 per cent of what he is on now, Mikel Arteta’s side may have to contribute some of the rest.
Whether Arsenal will sanction that move remains to be seen.
However, the experienced attacker, who was once called ‘fantastic’ by Edu (official website), has had a lack of interest in him, and this may be the best offer that Arsenal receive for him with time running out in the transfer window.
Willian surely has no future at the Emirates Stadium now, even after just a year at the club.
Willian made a bright start on debut for Arsenal, but ever since he has fallen out of favour and has been widely criticised by Gunners fans.
His move way now looks closer than ever, and if Arsenal could even clear part of his salary off their books, it would be a boost to their finances.
Arteta’s side have spent relatively heavily this summer, but they are yet to bring in much in the way of transfer fees.
And if Arsenal are to seal more additions before deadline day comes around then clearing out some of their fringe players will be imperative.
