It appears that, despite several reports to the contrary, Tottenham Hotspur were not in the race to sign Achraf Hakimi this summer.
That is according to a report from Football.London, who claim Spurs would not have wanted to get involved in such a big transfer battle.
Hakimi, who has been on a two-year loan at Borussia Dortmund, appears to be on his way to Inter Milan.
A report from Sky Sports this weekend has suggested that the Italian giants have agreed a fee of £36.3 million with his parent club Real Madrid that will see the Moroccan head to Italy this summer.
It comes amid recent reports of Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho being a big fan of the player and reportedly considering a move of his own.
However, according to Football.London, that is not the case.

They claim that Tottenham would not have been keen on a transfer battle with Inter and Dortmund for the player.
The report claims that Tottenham are reluctant to get into expensive transfer battles and would therefore have been unlikely to make a move for the exceptional full-back.
It is a shame for Tottenham fans, as Hakimi’s ability to play either right or left-back with aplomb would have made him an ideal recruit this summer.
However, it seems Tottenham simply did not want to get involved in a fight for his signature.
