While it may be Helder Costa and Jack Harrison causing the excitement at Leeds United over the weekend another attacker is also set to complete an Elland Road transfer.

As reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds are closing in on a deal to bring Carlisle United winger McCarron to Elland Road.

Now, the News and Star have shed some more light on the situation. They report that the Leeds move could be confirmed later today. The 18-year-old was reportedly offered an extended and improved deal at Brunton Park. However, the teenager saw a move to a club of Leeds’ ‘size and status as too good to turn down’.

The report also confirmed that McCarron would be sticking around at Leeds. There had been some hope among fans of the League Two club that he would head back to Carlisle on loan for the season. That is not a likely avenue that Leeds will pursue.

It means the 18-year-old is likely to go straight into Carlos Corberan’s under-23 side for the upcoming season.

McCarron played 20 times for the Cumbrians last season and will hope to have an impact on the Leeds first-team in the near future.
